Tema della Tavola Rotonda di APLAR 9 a Venaria Reale

L'INTEGRAZIONE DELLE TECNOLOGIE LASER NEI PERCORSI FORMATIVI E DI RICERCA PER LA CONSERVAZIONE

Moderano: Roberto Pini e Giorgio Bonsanti

Intervengono: Laura Bartoli, Michela Cardinali, Emanuela Daffra, Carla Giovannone,
                          Ilaria Lupini, Luigi Oliva, Antonio Sansonetti e Dominique Scalarone

Premessa:

1. Ricerca e Sviluppo su Tecnologie e Processi:
- Evoluzione delle sorgenti laser e dei parametri di emissione per interventi sempre più selettivi;
- Comprendere e modellare i processi per una pulitura chimico-fisica più efficiente e controllata;
- Diagnostica e monitoraggio in-situ con tecniche integrate per il controllo dei processi laser-indotti.

2. Contaminazione dei saperi:
- Superare il divario storico tra cultura umanistico-conservativa e competenze tecnico-scientifiche;
- Strumenti d'eccellenza: Il ruolo cruciale di tesi di laurea abilitanti, borse di studio dedicate e dottorati di ricerca (industriali o in collaborazione con enti di restauro) per creare figure professionali ponte.

3. Esperienze dirette di giovani formandi e formati:
- Case studies presentati da giovani professionisti o dottorandi;
- Difficoltà riscontrate nel percorso di formazione e fabbisogni del mercato del lavoro.

Topic of the APLAR 9 Round Table at Venaria Reale

INTEGRATING LASER TECHNOLOGIES INTO TRAINING AND RESEARCH PATHWAYS
FOR CONSERVATION

Moderators: Roberto Pini and Giorgio Bonsanti

Speakers: Laura Bartoli, Michela Cardinali, Emanuela Daffra, Carla Giovannone,
                   Ilaria Lupini, Luigi Oliva, Antonio Sansonetti and Dominique Scalarone

Background:
A significant number of papers submitted to the APLAR 9 Conference were based on theses, doctoral research projects and studies conducted by young researchers. These contributions highlighted an important issue that has therefore been selected as the focus of the APLAR 9 Round Table: training and research in relationship with technological innovation, which currently represents one of the most significant aspects for the future development of the field.
More specifically, the Round Table aims to foster a discussion among Educational Institutions, Research Organisations, Conservation and Restoration Schools, and young professionals on the current state of the training of qualified professionals equipped with interdisciplinary skills, combining expertise in conservation and restoration techniques with knowledge of laser technologies and laser-induced processes.

Topics for Discussion:
1. Research and Development in Technologies and Processes:
- Evolution of laser sources and emission parameters to enable increasingly
selective interventions;
- Understanding and modelling processes to achieve more efficient and controlled
physicochemical cleaning;
- In-situ diagnostics and monitoring through integrated techniques for the control
of laser- induced processes.

2. Interdisciplinary Integration of Knowledge and Expertise:
- Overcoming the historical divide between thehumanities and conservation on one side and technical-scientific expertise on the other;
- Excellence in training and research: the crucial role of qualifying degree theses, dedicated scholarships and PhD programmes — whether industrial or developed in collaboration with conservation and restoration institutions — in fostering the development of professionals capable of bridging these disciplines.

3. Direct Experiences of Trainees and Young Professionals:
- Case studies presented by young professionals and PhD candidates;
- Challenges encountered throughout their training pathways, and the skills and expertise required by the labour market.
